PUNE, MAHARASHRA, INDIA, March 12, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — SAVA Healthcare Limited today announced the launch of a microbe-free Salacia extract developed by its R&D center in Pune and produced in a state-of-the-art facility inspected by USFDA in Malur, Karnataka.

During the announcement, SAVA Healthcare Chairman Vinod Ramchandra Jadhav said, “India is home to over 5,000 years of Ayurvedic tradition passed down from generation to generation. Through SAVA Herbals, we want to bring these standardized extracts to the global market using our state-of-the-art facilities.”

SAVA Healthcare has now started exporting to the Japanese market in addition to its manufacturing and supplies to the Indian market. SAVA Healthcare would have worked a lot on this front in its R&D center.

Extracts of Salacia reticulata (Salacia extract), a plant that has been used for the treatment of early diabetes, rheumatism and gonorrhea in Ayurveda, have been shown to have an anti-obesity effect and suppress the hyperglycemia.

The stems and roots of the genus Salacia are a specific remedy for early-stage diabetes, and salacinol is the compound responsible for its anti-diabetic potential.

Salacia reticulata extract made at SAVA Healthcare’s Malur factory is made with plain hot water, making the process environmentally friendly.

Since Salacia is prone to microbial contamination of >106 cfu/g of raw material, SAVA Healthcare’s R&D team has developed a proprietary (patent issued) manufacturing process that reduces the microbial load to ®) with high salacinol content by LC-MS-MS.
