Dynabook launches the Portégé X40-K, offering portability, productivity and performance

Japanese computer maker Dynabook unveils its 14.0-inch Portégé X40-K.

Boasting a 12th generation hybrid architecture of 28W Intel Core P-Series processor options, Windows 11 Pro and a dark blue aluminum chassis, the new model offers performance, portability and security.

“With a more dispersed workforce becoming the norm for businesses, IT departments face the challenge of sourcing IT solutions that deliver the best combination of portability, performance and productivity features. Our high-end 14-inch Portégé X40-K has been designed specifically for this,” says Angela Walker, Managing Director of Dynabook ANZ.

“This new laptop checks all the right boxes for customers. It’s light, powerful, secure and packed with features. Moreover, it is very elegant, which modern buyers demand and is reinforced with a durable aluminum chassis.

Created with the hybrid workplace in mind, the laptop is just 17.9mm thin and weighs less than 1.46g. It was designed and tested to MIL-STD-810H standards for strength and durability to ensure endurance.

Opening the lid exposes a thin-bezel 14-inch IPS or multi-touch display, a backlit keyboard, and a large multi-touch ClickPad embedded in an aluminum palm rest.

With 28-watt 12th Gen Intel Core processor options, the Portégé X40-K benefits from the efficiency provided by Intel’s new hybrid architecture.

Configurable with Core i3, Core i5, or i7 processors, up to 64GB of memory, and beefed up with SSD, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4 storage, the Portégé X40-K is suited for multitasking.

Intel Iris Xe graphics add crisp, smooth video performance, support for up to four external 4K displays, and enhanced security.

Ports including full-size HDMI, Gigabit LAN, 3.5mm audio and USB-A, plus a microSD card slot offer adapter-free expansion.

When not in use, Sleep & Charge technology maintains a powered USB port, allowing the laptop to charge a smartphone and other accessories.

The Portégé X40-K comes preconfigured with Windows 11 Professional. Windows 11 can be managed with familiar tools and processes. For businesses awaiting migration, these laptops can be ordered with Windows 11 Pro and would be eligible for a free downgrade to Windows 10 Pro when ready to make the transition.

The Portégé X40-K meets Microsoft’s stringent requirements for secure-core PCs (vPro models) and addresses the security and manageability challenges posed by the accelerated transition to flexible work models.

Dynabook’s proprietary BIOS provides another layer of extensive security to mitigate BIOS-level security threats, while built-in features such as Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, enterprise-grade encryption, and optional authentication Windows Hello fingerprint and facial protection provides seamless protection against data, device and identity threats.

IT departments can easily support and manage these laptops using built-in intelligent management features.

Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) (vPro models), built into new 12th Gen Intel Core processors, provides remote device management.

Dynabook’s proprietary BIOS can also be upgraded and managed remotely to maintain the highest levels of security.

Dynabook will offer several configurations of the Portégé X40-K laptop through the company’s reseller network. Pricing will start at $1410 for the Portégé X40-K. The price indicated is RRP and VAT included.
